Dr. Sam Robinson is a native of North Louisiana, but now calls the Gulf Coast his home.  Dr. Robinson attended Tulane University School of Engineering as an undergraduate where he excelled, and was inducted into the honor societies of Tau Beta Pi, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Phi Eta Sigma.  He subsequently attended the Tulane University School of Medicine where he again excelled and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, a medical academic honor society.  He graduated in the top of his medical school class in 1976.

Dr. Robinson completed two years of surgical residency at Maricopa County General Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, and then returned to Tulane where he completed three years of Otolaryngology (ENT) specialty training in 1981.  He achieved board certification in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery in November of 1981. Since finishing his training, Dr. Robinson has developed successful practices as a solo practioner, in a single specialty group, and in a multispecialty group.  He was a member of the Green Clinic in Ruston, Louisiana for 6 years before moving to the Gulf Coast in 1988.  Here he established a solo practice, which was later incorporated into the Coastal ENT Associates, PLLC, partnership in 1999.  Dr. Robinson currently shares the ENT Clinic with Dr. Jason V. Smith and they both are partners of Coastal ENT Associates, PLLC.  Drs. Robinson and Smith have known each other since residency at Tulane and have practiced together since 1988.

Dr. Robinson has served on numerous committees, and is past president of Gulf South Outpatient Center.  He is also past chairman of his church's (First United Methodist Church in Gulfport) stewardship committee, and has served as chairman of his church's Administrative Council.  Dr. Robinson is presently a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Otolaryngology at Tulane, and he helps teach the Tulane Otolaryngology residents every Wednesday.
